Let's take a look behind the scenes: Our photographs are not simply printed on a piece of aluminum.
The photograph is first printed onto special thermal transfer paper using a printer. This is placed on the special ChromaLuxe material and prepared accordingly for the dye sublimation process. Under pressure and temperature, the pores of the coating open so that the ink of the printed photo is absorbed into the pores of the surface. After the process, the ink is now anchored in the surface and impresses with its unique material properties. The result? A work of art for eternity!

The works of art that result from this process are guaranteed to be lightfast, non-flammable, scratch- and waterproof and much more, for over 65 years. The highest print quality in the world is demonstrated by pure brilliance and impressive attention to detail.
A trip down memory lane: The 2016 test
Let's travel back to 2016, when the experts from WIR (Wilhelm Imaging Research) put ChromaLuxe through its paces. Sublimated ChromaLuxe metal prints were tested according to Wilhelm Imaging Research criteria using two different ink sets:
Epson 4-color UltraChrome DS inks
Sawgrass 8-color Sublijet HD Pro Photo XF sublimation inks
Using the Epson ink set, ChromaLuxe achieved an impressive Wilhelm Display Permanence rating of 65 years. The Sawgrass ink set is close behind, at a whopping 64 years old. A true triumph of durability!
The secret of durability
"Display stability" is the benchmark that counts the years before a visible loss of color intensity or color balance occurs at high light intensity. In the tests, ChromaLuxe proved to be a true champion. Under normal lighting conditions, we expect these metal prints to shine for more than 100 years.
